History of Kailash Kher

Born 7 July, 1973 in Meerut on the border of Delhi, to a family with Kashmiri roots, he went to New Delhi as a young child. His father a Hindu priest, he was an amateur musician whose performance of traditional folk songs be a regular household event. Even as a four year old, Kher exposed a normal musical talent and he would often impress friends and family by belt out songs with his too soon powerful voice. In age of 14, kailash kher left home in search of a guru and he embarks on years of classical and folk music study. But he couldn’t find the right guru. His playlist then use to be Indian classical, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Pandit Gokulotsav Maharaj, Nusrat Fetah Ali Khan, Pandit Gokulotsav Maharaj, Lata Mangeshkar, Pandit Kumar Gandharv, and their generation.

Kher left New Delhi for Mumbai in 2001, India’s highly competitive music industry ‘epicenter’, to seek his fortunes as a professional singer. His big opportunities came with the song ‘Allah Ke Bande hasde’ by movie Waisa Bhi Hota Hai-2 II. This song became more famous.

Kailasa and Kailash Kher released their first album, Kailasa, in 2006, which is the smash hit ‘Teri Deewani’ and ‘Tauba Tauba’ and his in 2007 by their second album Jhoomo Re, which was also a important and commercial success with Tracks as Saaiyan and Jhoomo re. In 2008, Kailash Kher was invited to become a judge in Indian Idol.
